001 @ Video | Action for Route 31
[It's raining, it's pouring. This really put a dent in the Idol Caravan's traveling plans, but Ryo's making the most of it. Shit happens, after all. Even if it does make some things more... difficult. So the feed opens to the novice idol sitting in a tent, spreading some mayonnaise on a slice of bread. In the background are a Ralts and a Rattata happily muching on some diagonally cut sandwiches that seem to contain some whipped cream and Oran berries. It seems that the PokeGear has been set on the ground, so that Ryo's "cooking" duty can continue during the broadcast.
Ryo lets out a small sigh.]
I feel bad that I can't make a nicer meal for everyone... but I suppose there's no helping it with this kind of weather. Haruka-san and everyone, I'm sorry.
[After glancing back at the Pokemon stuffing their faces, Ryo turns to look at the camera again with a smile.]
The berry sandwiches I made seem to be a hit, though~ I'm glad.
Anyway, I'd like to ask about these Pokemon Gyms, since I'm thinking of challenging them once I'm strong enough. How should I prepare? And how do I know when I'm ready?
[Ryo glances to the side, mumbling in a barely audible and lower pitched voice---]
Then again, I really wonder if this is the answer to my---
[Suddenly, that train of thought is interrupted when the Ralts and Rattata begin to fight over the last sandwich. Ryo quickly drops the unprepared sandwich in hand and picks up the PokeGear to turn it off, since trying to diffuse this situation is probably not something people should see.]
RITSU, NEZU, NO----!
[The camera's view rapidly flies from one crazy angle to another, with a loud "GYAOOOOOOOON!" ringing through the tent before the feed shuts off.]

Barely... Thankfully splitting the last sandwich in half was enough for them to stop fighting. I didn't think Pokemon could be so territorial with food!
[He's so knowledgeable! Once again, Ryo is impressed by Hayate.]
I wish there was a method to that, though. Ritsu and Nezu seem to like whatever I make for them, but I have to take into consideration what kind of things the others' Pokemon would like...
... though, even with that... some of them do just eat anything you give them regardless... It's a challenge, but it's worth it to see them pleased with their favorite. ♥
[video]
[Ryo rummages through his bag for some writing implements. He must take notes on this! THIS IS ALSO PART OF BEING A POKEMON MASTER...]
You really know your stuff, Ayasaki-san! I haven't really prepared food for such a large group before... It's even more tough since we're traveling on foot! Sharing your experience and wisdom with me would really help a ton!
Um, well... It's largely just the experience of being here for a long time, but... If there's anything specific you want to know, as long as it's not related to breeding, I'd be happy to share! Ah, that's right! One piece of advice I can give regardless of what you're most curious about is to pack your cooking supplies carefully. They can really build up fast, taking up almost as much room as the food you bring out on the road...
*Though that should be common sense, but Hayate normally carries Way Too Much Stuff with him at all times in that magic bag of holding.*
[video]
[Hayate's like a fairy godmother or something! Ryo never ceases to be impressed.]
What sort of food do you make during your travels, Ayasaki-san? With you and Yayoi-san traveling together, I'm sure every day is full of delicious meals.
Mmm... It depends on who I have traveling with me, along with how long the trip is estimated to be... I like to prepare a few things in the morning before we leave, then keep them stored so we can have a good lunch and dinner our first day out to keep everyone energized...
After that, though... There's things like curry, which can last a few days depending on the size of the group... Of course there are simple salads as well, along with things like stir fry over a camp fire... Basically it's always a good idea to stock up on vegetables!
Honestly though? I think having a Pokemon who can help you make a bit of ice to keep in a cooler can make all the difference in the quality of meals you can make on the road! I've made meals that most would deem impossible so far from town with the help of a Pokemon who can make a bit of ice for me to keep things fresh.
*tl;dr, traveling with him is indeed full of delicious meals.*
[video]
So, in conclusion...
[DRAMATIC PAUSE.]
... I need an ice-type Pokemon. [YEEEAAAAH.] I haven't seen any around yet, though...
I can't give much advice on where to get one outside of the Ice Path, but there's always the breeding center if you have the money to spare! And if not, well... I could give you a bit if one catches your fancy. It's the least I can do to help an up and coming trainer. ♥
[video]
[HE HAS HONOR.]
Though I think it'd be good to know where the breeding center is... Am I right to assume it works like an adoption center or something?
*HE IS IMPRESSED AT THIS HONOR.*
It's in Goldenrod, and... well, you can call them and place an order for an egg pretty much anytime! You just have to be in a place they can have it delivered. There are some Pokemon that are flat out up for adoption though, I think... I haven't done much business with them since they hit it big.
[Oh well, the world must be... a really big scary place...]
Anyway, Pokemon come from eggs? Am I... supposed to sit on it or something? [Sounds pretty high maintenance...]
*MOVING RIGHT ALONG...*
Well... You could sit on one for a while if you really wanted to fill out a motherly role outside of raising a child, I suppose. *sorry ryo...*
[video]
Ehhhh? It has nothing to do with wanting to be motherly, really! It's just... how is it supposed to hatch?
Then again, seeing how rowdy it is in my group, maybe it isn't such a good idea to get an egg... It might break in the midst of chaos.
Still, ah... In my experience they're actually quite difficult to break! I know one or two people who have dropped them and they came out okay... They're definitely not invincible though.
