... Good afternoon, everyone. This is Ryo Akizuki. Today, I'm going to sing a song for Ai-chan, who went home recently. This is my first time singing this, so, um... I'm sorry if it offends your ears.

[After taking a deep breath, Ryo begins. True, it does seem that the idol isn't used to singing this type of song, but it is evident that he is giving it his all.

The video doesn't end once Ryo finishes. It seems like there's someone more he would like to add...]

That was "ALIVE", a classic by a former top idol, Mai Hidaka. I think that the song really resonates with the situation of the three of us, and maybe even our senpai. I... I hope that the song reached Ai-chan, and that she knows that I don't want her to give up on her dream.

[The gesture may seem pointless to some, but it was the only way Ryo could think to cope with the loss.]

Um, anyway... I'm a bit conflicted. I'm wondering if I should stay here in Goldenrod a bit longer, or continue traveling to the other towns. I want to become stronger and be a trainer that people could take seriously, but there's also my idol career... Plus, I don't want Eri-chan to be by herself...

I guess what I'm trying to say is... Any advice?

Eheh, thank you! I was really nervous... It's kind of difficult to sing that sort of song for me.

But you gave it your best shot, right, and it went well. [Have a grin.] I think I recall having some problems with some of my songs too... But trying new styles - or getting into them - is always a fun challenge too.

[Ryo blinks in surprise.]

You're a singer too?

Mmm. [Cheerful nod!] I sing Japanese pop.

Really... [Talk about a small world.] I mainly do too. Well, I'm actually an idol, so I do other things like acting and stuff. I'm sure compared to you, I'm leagues behind when it comes to singing.

Ehhh? [An idol? Mitsuki knows what that is, anyone from Japanese show business knows that much, but she hasn't met too many of them. She's so surprised by this. Then again, didn't Johto have some kind of an idol/singer flood a few months ago?] How is it - acting and... stuff? I've only done a few things like a TV commercials, when a new product needed a theme song.

But I'm just a normal girl, who loves singing and just wants to sing for the rest of her life. There are no leagues or other forms of competition there, right? [Her rival would disagree after losing so many times to her, but Mitsuki is not a very competitive person. So, she really doesn't think about leagues or levels or other things like that either.]

Eheh, I guess... If you like what you do a lot, competition shouldn't be too much of an issue!

[Even if he does have to get to the top... for... personal reasons.]

Anyway, as for acting... It can be, um, scary sometimes? Yeah.

Even if it's a big goal we'll be able to get there... with everyone else here we have plenty of people to help us?

Right.

[Ryo couldn't help but clench his fist, as if gripping his own determination to make sure it's there.]

Hey, Eri-chan... The truth is, I want to become a stronger Pokemon trainer, and not just a top idol. I'm... thinking about going back to Violet City and Azalea City to challenge the Gym soon. But, I don't want to leave you alone here...

[ She really didn't know what to say about all this. Ryo going to face the gyms in Violet and Azalea would be helpful, but being alone was kinda scary. Without Ai she was by herself and fighting wasn't something she was good at. ]

It's important to become stronger... [ Something she had been completely neglecting on her own part. ]

You would only be away for a little while? If everyone else is still around things would be ok? Tagging along wouldn't be helpful at all for you. [ It's the sad truth really, as much as Eri liked being around her friends she was quite worthless as a pokemon trainer. ]

[Ryo won't have any of that. He takes Eri's hands into his own, and looks her in the eyes sternly.]

Geez, don't talk about yourself like that, Eri-chan! Even if you're not good at battling, you're still my friend! I'd always love to have your company.

It's just that... I don't want to drag you around everywhere if you don't want to go. That's not fair to Eri-chan.

I'm sure it did, Ryo-chan. [...] You have a rather boyish voice, like Makoto-chan. It's nice.

[But he isn't all superficialities, when it comes down to the wire. Despite his acting.]

I think you can be a strong trainer and be an amazing idol. The Kimono Girls in Ecruteak City are pretty close to that, at least in Johto, so I don't see why you couldn't achieve it. All of you... I believe you could all reach your dreams. Eri-chan will probably understand if you leave her, although I'm sure she'd be much happier travelling beside you. Company's always good.

[OH GOD HAS HE BEEN FOUND OUT... No, oh no. Good. He's safe. Okay.]

... Mm, but I don't know what to do if she doesn't want to leave... Eri-chan's really shy and a bit scared of people, so she really needs someone to be with her. It would be nice if she made more friends, I think.

The other idols are in Goldenrod, right? You could leave her with them.

I think the only one she knows really well from the 765 Company is Miki-san, but she's gone now... Whenever she's around a lot of people and she's not with someone she's comfortable with, she tends to freeze up and get really stressed.

Maybe before I go, I should try and help her be less scared of people... I wonder how, though?
